France’s most important national holiday, Bastille Day, is July 14 — 10 days after our own Fourth of July. It commemorates the storming of the Bastille in Paris, which started the French Revolution, and it’s celebrated all over France with parades, fireworks, concerts, communal meals and other festivities. On this side of the pond, we’re not likely to have a parade for the French. But a French meal isn’t a bad idea. In fact, it’s a very good one!
